How the Pay-As-You-Go Cell Phone Service Works: Postpaid cellular rate plans lock people into a set number of voice minutes and data kilobytes. If you use more data and less voice than the plan includes, you are charged extra for the data and lose voice minutes at the end of the bill cycle. The Go Phone servcie is much more flexible and cost efficient.

• The AT&T Wireless Pay-As-You-Go Cell Phone allows customers to use their cellular plan for voice or data or any combination and to vary that usage from month to month. They can use their payment amount for all data one month and all voice the next.
• AT&T Wireless Pay As You Go Cell Phone plans do not have an included amount of voice minutes or data kilobytes.
• AT&T Pay-As-You-Go prepaid cell phone customers make a payment at the time of activation and every 30 days thereafter or when the account balance is reduced to $5, whichever occurs first.
• Just like postpaid plans at AT&T Wireless, any unused balance in the pay-as-you-go cell phone account expires at the end of 30 days.
• GoPhone AT&T Wireless pay-as-you-go cell phone customers never pay the higher cost of not-included minutes or kilobyte prices.
